A single-malt brand from Tasmania has become the first Australian whisky to be imported into the U.S..
The Lark Distillery have just announced a 5 year contract to supply to the Chicago-based spirits importer Marsalle Company.
The Lark will export 750ml bottles of (43%) AV Single Malt, (46%) AV Distillers Selection and (58%) AV Cask Strength Single Malt Whisky. They will be distributed throughout San Francisco, Los Angeles, Chicago, Miami and New York from early 2011.
The Distillery’s director of sales and marketing, Ross Dinsmoor, said
“There is real interest in our artisan-style of distilling… My Marsalle counterpart, Rob Imperial, has trialled our Tasmanian whisky with a number of leading industry professionals and has secured placement in some of America’s foremost restaurants, bars and specialty liquor retailers.”
