No more faking it

It’s been reported that The Scotch Whisky Association (SWA) will today be granted its registration for Geographic Indication (GI) in China. This basically means that Scotch sold in China will have to abide by UK industry rules.

Counterfeiting is rife in China and the SWA has been working hard to get its whiskies better protected there, particularly as China is such a crucial market, where a 5% annual volume growth is expected over the next four years.
