Pernod Ricard Q1 Figures

Pernod Ricard have released their Q1 results for 2010/2011 (from 1 July to 30 September 2010), showing net sales (excluding tax and duties) of € 1,879 million. This is a +14% increase on the same period last year.

Nine out of the 14 ‘strategic spirits and champagne brands’ enjoyed double-digit organic sales growth:

  • Martell (+45%)
  • Royal Salute (+37%)
  • Perrier-Jouët (+36%)
  • Jameson (+27%)
  • Ballantine’s (+16%)
  • Chivas Regal (+14%)
  • The Glenlivet (+14%)
  • Mumm (13%)
  • Havana Club (+11%)

In a wider context it seems that, in spite of the financial downturn, luxury goods spending is rising strongly. Bain & Co has increased its forecast for this year’s global luxury goods sales growth from 4% to 10%. Although if the dollar weakens, as expected, sales growth in Spirits & Wines will be restrained moving into 2011.
